Last week I wrote more about a wide breadth of "what we were doing over the last 12 weeks."
I want to get back to the weekly cadence of breaking down what is being worked on, as it also makes it easier for me not to accidentally overlook something in my recap.
We are closing in on the winter holiday season, and (as was the case last year) we have Run Club hoodies that are set to arrive at the warehouse within the next 10-15 days. Unfortunately, it isn't possible this year to make sure that they are prepped and ready in time for the holiday season. For this, I am sorry. Many people would prefer to buy and give them as gifts, but I cannot see it happening within the tight window since we have yet to get the product at the warehouse.
Speaking of the holiday season, December 19th, 2022, is (according to USPS) the LAST possible day to ship United States packages to ensure they arrive before Christmas. The last thing I would want is a gift to not make it in time!
There is an update regarding the mesh shorts. I know we are entering the throws of winter, but the mesh shorts demand never seemed to slow down. This next production run will have more colors (seen above). Namely: Maroon, Deep Green, Brown, and Deep Navy. I would also like to note a change we will be making with the "Minted New York" logo. Instead of a heat-pressed logo, I am changing it to an embroidered logo. I have found (through feedback) that some people were having an issue with the logo peeling off after several washes. This is unacceptable moving forward (and frankly… something that I wish had come up in my own wear testing). The embroidery will be applied in the same logo style to help solve this peeling issue.
I introduced this varsity jacket for the first time yesterday on my TikTok. I am thrilled with the first round of sampling here, especially since the first couple of sample rounds are mainly to get the fit right. The detailing in the stitching & embroidery is fantastic. The "City of Dreams" back embroidery alluded to the "City of Dreams" crewneck we released earlier this year. Upon reading the feedback, the consensus was split on wanting this embroidered on the back. As we advance with production, I think the best option would be a "with embroidery" and a "without embroidery option"; however, this will limit the total volume. Regardless, I am happy with how timeless the piece looks. As with everything that we make… I hope it gets passed down for generations to come!
I want to pose a thought experiment above. In talking with some people, they noted that the hang tag might not be worth including on future pieces as it will likely get tossed along with the polybag the garments come in. While certainly a reality to most, I had never thought of it this way. I have batted this idea around in my head for the weeks following the initial conversation, and I want to know what you all think about this? Do people collect them? Is there a way to make them collectible? Is it unnecessary to add to future pieces? Would love open dialog

I love collecting Tags from certain places, its a little keepsake! I think it would be cool if the tag is made up of some type of durable material or unique in some way. Maybe made out of fabric scraps and have the name printed on them, make it a "collect them all" kind of thing? I also love stickers, I throw them on my laptop, water bottles and etc. Each drop = different stickers (if that is realistic). Then market it at the end of the year where people could buy a pack of the stickers released that year?
Building off what some others have said with adding the release or other identifying info about the garment, I think it could be cool to, on the reverse side of the logo) name the releases after NYC streets or sights. Example: 5th Ave, Central Park, Empire State Building. And then include an outline of the street/sight. So if it was the Blue Line release, that would be in foil along the edge of the tag and then the shape of the Mta blue line route would be in foil as well. Kinda makes each card collectible but also not as difficult as numbering each garment in a run
